A famous Southern Arizona artist from Tubac often used his fingers while oil painting, Elizabeth. His name was Hal Empie. I like your variety of style, subjects, and mediums. I like your attitude regarding art as well. You will learn much from each new painting you do and you can learn much just by studying the work of artists whom you admire. Best wishes, Jerry

I don't know how I missed this Jerry !! Thanks so much ! you are so right... an artist learns the most through observation.

Thank you so much. I must give credit to Wilson Bickford - a great artist, for this one.

Artist's Description

I used my fingers to make what began as a mess and ultimately get the effect of day breaking through a menagerie of crimson clouds in a cobalt sky.The waves are only building up and will soon bring forth the high tide with clearer skies. I realized how much fun finger painting is. The key is to be brave and go all out using all ten fingers, nails and elbows if you need!

About Elizabeth Mundaden

Elizabeth Mundaden

I've been painting for a good part of my life now but I still feel like an amateur at best. There is so much more to try, and to learn, and to perfect. Knowing that the quest will never end is both an exciting and humbling realization. I taught myself how to paint on egg shells 15 years ago and keep adding to my collection of high-detail eggcraft mostly on chicken egg shells. Painting on small surfaces fascinates me. I dabble in acrylics, am teaching myself watercolors and am still in awe of oils. I'm so glad there are sites like FAA which bring us artists together so that we can be inspired by each other and all the great talent out there. Thanks very much for stopping by.
